In the late 1980s, in Cedeira, a group of shellfish gatherers organized to fight for recognition of their employment rights, causing a deep rift within a community where taking a stand had personal consequences. Their struggle would set an important precedent for the recognition of women shellfish gatherers’ employment rights in Galicia, although their story would remain partially silenced.

Decades later, Na praia había unha familia returns to the voices of those who lived through that conflict to explore its wounds and ask what it costs to stand up to your own community for what you believe is right.
